In India the National Doctors' Day is celebrated onJuly 1 all across India to honour the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962. He was 80 years old.

On 4 February, 1961, he was honoured with the India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna.

Doctors help us by treating our illnesses and injuries. Often a doctor will give a patient medicine to make him feel good.  If a person follows these "doctor's orders," he or she will feel better soon. Doctors can also help us when we are healthy. DOctors can do various health checkups and warn patients on increase in sugar or cholesterol, suggest better diet and work out schedules.

Doctors save lives, but their importance goes far beyond that. Doctors also make a difference by helping patients minimize pain, recover from a disease faster or learn to live with a disabling injury. A patient's ability to enjoy life, even if they can't be cured, makes a huge difference to them and to their families.

Medisense Healthcare wishes all doctors on and off our Panel very happy doctor's day. We thank your contribution to communities, society and individuals.
